Flowers need a healthy diet to flourish. Flowers continue to live even after they're cut. Flower food gives cut flowers the energy they need to bloom at their best.
Following floral-food packet directions, measure and add water to a clean, nonmetallic container. Don't simply dump the flower-food packet in without measuring. The flower food will either be too concentrated or too diluted.
Add the flower food to your vase and stir. Next:
Remove leaves that will be below the water line
Cut the bottom half-inch off each stem underwater. Use a sink or large bowl of warm water.
Place flowers immediately into container.
For maximum enjoyment:
Check the solution level daily. Add more flower-food solution as needed.
Keep your flowers away from direct sunlight, drafts and heat sources (such as the top of a TV)
